This Privacy Policy explains how QGlide ("QGlide", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, discloses, retains and protects personal data in connection with our rides, shared rides, car rental and courier delivery services (the "Services"), available through our website and mobile applications (together, the "App"). This Policy applies to Riders, Drivers, rental partners, couriers, senders and recipients of deliveries, and visitors to our website. We process personal data in accordance with the State of Qatar's Personal Data Privacy Protection Law (Law No. 13 of 2016) and other applicable Qatari legislation. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Services.

1. Who this Policy applies to

This Policy applies to any individual who uses the App or Services, including:

  • Riders who book private or shared rides;

  • Drivers and rental partners who provide services through the App;

  • senders and recipients of parcels through our Courier Service;

  • job applicants and business contacts who interact with QGlide; and

  • visitors to our website, including those who submit a contact form or subscribe to updates.

Where we refer to "you" in this Policy, we mean any of the individuals described above, as relevant to the context.

2. Information we collect

We collect personal data that you provide to us directly, data generated automatically through your use of the App, and, in limited cases, data from third parties. This includes:

  • Account and profile information: your name, phone number, email address, date of birth, profile photo, and, for Drivers and rental partners, driving licence details, vehicle registration, insurance documents and other verification documents required under Qatari law.

  • Trip, rental and delivery data: pickup and drop-off locations, route taken, trip duration and distance, fares paid, rental dates, and parcel details for courier deliveries.

  • Location data: precise or approximate location information collected while the App is in use, and, where you have granted permission, while the App runs in the background, to enable matching, navigation and safety features.

  • Payment information: payment card details (processed by our payment service providers, who are subject to applicable card-industry security standards), transaction history and billing details. QGlide does not store full card numbers on its own servers.

  • Communications: messages exchanged with our support team, in-app messages or calls between Riders and Drivers (which may be masked or recorded for safety and quality purposes, where permitted by Qatari law), and any feedback, ratings or complaints you submit.

  • Device and usage information: device type, operating system, IP address, app version, crash logs, and general usage patterns collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 8 below).

  • Identity verification data: for Drivers, couriers and rental partners, this may include a photograph, national ID or passport details, and background or licence-verification results, collected to meet safety and regulatory obligations in Qatar.

3. How we collect information

We collect personal data:

  • directly from you, when you register an account, request a trip, rental or delivery, contact support, or otherwise interact with the App;

  • automatically, through your device and your use of the App, including location, device and usage data; and

  • from third parties, such as identity-verification providers, payment processors, and, where legally permitted, relevant Qatari authorities for licence or background verification of Drivers.

4. How we use your information

We use personal data for the following purposes:

  • to create and manage your account and verify your identity;

  • to match Riders with Drivers, calculate routes and fares, and facilitate rentals and courier deliveries;

  • to process payments and issue receipts;

  • to communicate with you about a trip, rental or delivery, including status updates and support responses;

  • to maintain the safety and security of the platform, including fraud prevention, incident investigation, and verification of Driver documents;

  • to improve and develop the App and Services, including analysing usage trends and testing new features;

  • to send you service-related notices, and, where you have opted in, marketing communications about QGlide's products and promotions; and

  • to comply with our legal obligations under Qatari law, including tax, transport-regulatory and law-enforcement requirements.

5. Legal basis for processing

We process your personal data on one or more of the following bases: performance of the contract between you and QGlide (or facilitation of the contract between you and a Driver or partner) to provide the Services you request; compliance with a legal obligation under the laws of Qatar; our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the Services, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights; and, where required, your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by contacting support@qglide.com.

6. Location information

Location data is central to how QGlide operates: it allows us to match you with nearby Drivers, calculate accurate fares and routes, and support safety features such as trip sharing and incident response. You may control location permissions through your device settings at any time; however, disabling location access may prevent certain features of the App, such as automatic pickup detection, from working correctly.

7. How we share your information

We share personal data only where necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including with:

  • Drivers and Riders, who receive limited information about each other (such as name, photo, approximate location and contact details necessary to complete a trip or delivery) to enable the Services;

  • service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as payment processing, identity verification, cloud hosting, customer support tooling and analytics, under contractual confidentiality obligations;

  • competent Qatari authorities, including law enforcement, the Ministry of Interior or the Ministry of Transport, where required by law, in connection with a legal process, or to protect the safety of a User or the public;

  • professional advisers, insurers and, in the event of an accident or incident, parties reasonably involved in investigating or resolving that incident; and

  • a successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of QGlide's business or assets, subject to that entity's agreement to handle your data consistently with this Policy.

QGlide does not sell personal data to third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website and App use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, understand how the Services are used, and, where permitted, measure the effectiveness of marketing. You can manage cookie preferences through the cookie settings available on our website, or through your browser or device settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the website.

9. Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations under Qatari law (including applicable tax and commercial record-keeping requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Trip, payment and safety-related records are generally retained for the period required by Qatari law and our legitimate business needs, after which the data is securely deleted or anonymised, unless a longer retention period is required for a specific legal or regulatory reason.

10. How we protect your information

We apply administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction, including encryption of data in transit, access controls limiting internal access to personal data on a need-to-know basis, and regular review of our security practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and while we work to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

11. International data transfers

Some of our service providers, including cloud hosting and payment infrastructure providers, may process personal data outside of Qatar. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure that it continues to receive an appropriate level of protection, consistent with the requirements of Qatar's Personal Data Privacy Protection Law, including through contractual safeguards with our service providers.

12. Your rights

Subject to applicable Qatari law, you have the right to:

  • request access to the personal data we hold about you;

  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;

  • request deletion of your personal data, subject to our legal and legitimate retention needs;

  • object to, or request that we restrict, certain processing of your personal data; and

  • withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@qglide.com. We will verify your identity before acting on a request and will respond within a reasonable time. We may decline a request where permitted or required by Qatari law, for example where retention is necessary to comply with a legal obligation.

13. Children's privacy

The Services are not directed at, and QGlide does not knowingly collect personal data from, individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without appropriate consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete that data.

14. Marketing communications

Where you have opted in, we may send you marketing communications about QGlide's Services, offers and promotions by email, SMS or push notification. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email, adjusting your notification settings in the App, or contacting support@qglide.com. You will continue to receive essential service-related communications even after opting out of marketing.

15. Third-party links and services

The App may contain links to, or integrate with, third-party websites, payment providers or mapping services. This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their own privacy policies before providing them with personal data.

16. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, legal requirements or data practices. Where a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice through the App or by email before the change takes effect. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Policy is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Doha, State of Qatar, save for any mandatory rights available to you before another competent authority under Qatari law.

18. Contact us
