Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the QGlide mobile application (the “App”), the website at www.qglide.com, and the ride hailing services provided through them (collectively, the “Services”). QGlide is a technology platform that connects riders (also referred to as users or passengers) seeking transportation with independent drivers offering transportation services within the State of Qatar.
QGlide operates exclusively in Qatar and complies with all applicable Qatari laws and regulations. This includes Law No. 19 of 2007 Regarding Traffic (as amended), regulations issued by the Ministry of Interior (including the General Traffic Department), requirements from the Ministry of Transport for licensed passenger transportation services via electronic applications, the Personal Data Privacy Protection Law No. 13 of 2016, and other relevant commercial, consumer protection, and traffic laws. Only authorized ride hailing platforms may operate in Qatar, and QGlide ensures full compliance with licensing and operational standards set by the competent authorities.
By downloading the App, registering an account, requesting a ride as a rider, providing transportation as a driver, or otherwise accessing or using the Services, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy (available at www.qglide.com), any Community Guidelines or Marketplace Conduct Guidelines incorporated by reference, and any additional policies or notices displayed in the App or on the website. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately cease all use of the Services and delete the App.
QGlide acts solely as an information society service provider and technology intermediary. It facilitates connections between riders and independent drivers but does not itself provide transportation services, act as a carrier, or employ drivers. Transportation services are provided directly under a separate contract formed between the rider and the driver upon acceptance of a ride request through the App. QGlide is not a party to that transportation contract and assumes no responsibility for its performance, except as expressly provided in these Terms.
These Terms may be updated periodically to reflect changes in Services, legal requirements, or business practices. We will provide notice of material changes through the App, email, push notification, or posting on the website. Your continued use of the Services after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
Definitions
The following terms have the meanings set out below:
1. Rider, User, or Passenger: Any individual who registers to request or receive transportation services via the Services.
2. Driver: An independent contractor who registers to offer and provide transportation services to riders through the Services.
3. QGlide, We, Us, or Our: The entity operating the QGlide platform, based and operating in Qatar.
4. Services: The App, website, technology platform, ride matching, payment processing facilitation, customer support, and related features provided by QGlide.
5. Transportation Services: The actual provision of passenger carriage performed by drivers, independent of QGlide.
6. Account: Your registered profile and credentials on the QGlide platform.
7. Fare: The amount payable by the rider for Transportation Services, as calculated and displayed inthe App.
Eligibility and Account Registration
To use the Services, you must:
1. Be at least 18 years of age (the legal age for entering binding contracts in Qatar) or, if younger, have appropriate parental or guardian consent where permitted.
2. For riders: Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration, including valid contact details and payment methods where applicable.
3. For drivers: Hold a valid Qatar commercial driving license suitable for ride hailing or passenger transport services as required by the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Transport; own or operate a vehicle that meets all Qatari registration, safety, insurance (including mandatory third party liability coverage), and fitness standards; pass background checks, vehicle inspections, and any verification processes mandated by Qatari authorities; and maintain ongoing compliance with all traffic, commercial transport, and licensing regulations.
You must keep your Account information accurate and secure. You are responsible for all activity under your Account. QGlide reserves the right to verify any information provided, suspend or terminate Accounts for any breach of these Terms, provision of false information, safety concerns, low performance, or non compliance with Qatari laws, and to report violations to relevant authorities such as the Ministry of Interior or Ministry of Transport.
General User Obligations
All users (riders and drivers) agree to:
1. Use the Services only for lawful purposes in compliance with Qatari laws.
2. Not use the Services for any illegal, fraudulent, harmful, or unauthorized activities.
3. Comply with all applicable traffic laws, including seat belt requirements, speed limits, prohibitions on distracted driving, and zero tolerance for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
4. Treat others with respect, avoid discrimination, harassment, or abusive behavior.
5. Report any accidents, incidents, safety issues, or violations immediately through the App or to authorities as required by law.
6. Not misuse the Services, such as creating multiple Accounts, manipulating ratings, or engaging in fare evasion.
Rider Specific Terms
As a rider, you agree to:
1. Provide accurate pickup and drop off locations and be ready promptly when the driver arrives.
2. Pay the Fare promptly, including any applicable tolls, waiting time charges, cancellation fees, surcharges, or cleaning fees for damage or excessive mess.
3. Ensure compliance with vehicle safety rules, such as wearing seat belts and properly securing children in approved restraints as required by Qatari traffic law.
4. Not request or encourage the driver to violate traffic laws, overload the vehicle, or engage in unsafe practices.
5. Respect the driver’s property and maintain cleanliness; compensate for any damage caused.
6. Provide honest ratings and feedback to support service quality.
Upon accepting a ride match, you enter into a direct transportation contract with the driver. Any disputes related to the ride quality, lost items, or incidents should be resolved between you and the driver or escalated through QGlide support where appropriate.
Driver Specific Terms
As a driver, you represent, warrant, and agree that:
1. You are an independent contractor with no employment, agency, or partnership relationship with QGlide.
2. You possess and will maintain all required licenses, permits, vehicle registration, comprehensive insurance covering passengers, and compliance certificates mandated by Qatari authorities.
3. Your vehicle is safe, roadworthy, regularly maintained, and free of defects that could endanger passengers.
4. You will provide courteous, safe, and professional Transportation Services, follow efficient routes (unless safety or rider preference dictates otherwise), assist with reasonable needs (such as luggage or accessibility accommodations), and comply strictly with traffic regulations.
5. You will accept or decline ride requests at your discretion but maintain reasonable availability and performance standards to avoid deactivation.
6. You will not discriminate, engage in unsafe practices, or misuse rider information.
7. You authorize QGlide to collect Fares on your behalf, deduct applicable service fees, and remit net amounts to you in accordance with App policies.
You are solely responsible for your own taxes, vehicle expenses, fuel, maintenance, and compliance with all commercial transport rules. QGlide may deactivate your Account for breaches, safety risks, regulatory violations, poor ratings, or failure to meet standards.
Payments, Fares, and Fees
Fares are dynamically calculated based on distance, time, demand, route, and other factors displayed in the App. Riders may pay via in App methods (preferred), cash (where supported), or linked payment options. Drivers receive Fares minus QGlide’s service fees, which cover platform maintenance, support, and other costs. Additional charges may include:
1. Cancellation fees (if rider cancels after driver acceptance or no show).
2. Waiting time fees beyond any grace period.
3. Tolls, airport surcharges, or peak demand adjustments.
4. Cleaning or damage fees for verifiable issues caused by the user.
Tips are voluntary and transferred fully to drivers (subject to any applicable taxes or deductions required by law). All payments comply with Qatari financial and consumer protection regulations. Disputes over charges should be submitted via the App support within a reasonable time for review.
Safety, Conduct, and Community Standards
Safety remains the highest priority. Users must:
1. Adhere strictly to Qatari traffic laws and road safety requirements.
2. Allow service animals or accessibility accommodations as mandated.
3. Immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, or misconduct.
QGlide enforces community standards prohibiting harassment, fraud, violence, illegal activities, or behaviour endangering others. Violations may result in warnings, suspensions, permanent deactivation, and reporting to authorities.
Intellectual Property and User Content
The App, website, and Services (including logos, text, software) are owned by QGlide or its licensors.
You receive a limited, non exclusive, revocable license to use them solely for personal, non commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
Any content you submit (ratings, feedback, photos) grants QGlide a worldwide, royalty free license to use, display, and incorporate it for Service improvement and promotion.
Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. QGlide disclaims all express or implied warranties regarding availability, accuracy, reliability, safety, or fitness for purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by Qatari law, QGlide is not liable for:
1. Acts, omissions, or conduct of drivers, riders, or third parties.
2. Transportation Services quality, delays, accidents, injuries, property damage, or lost items.
3. Indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from use of the Services.
QGlide’s total liability shall not exceed amounts paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim, except where Qatari law prohibits such limitation (e.g., for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or mandatory consumer protections).
You agree to indemnify and hold QGlide harmless from claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the Services, breach of these Terms, violation of laws, or harm to third parties.
Termination and Suspension
QGlide may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without cause or notice, for violations of these Terms, safety concerns, legal requirements, or inactivity. You may terminate by ceasing use and deleting your Account.
Certain provisions (liability, indemnification, governing law) survive termination.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed exclusively by the laws of the State of Qatar, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
Any disputes shall first be addressed through good faith negotiation. If unresolved, they shall be submitted to the competent courts in Doha, Qatar, or resolved amicably as encouraged under Qatari regulations.
Miscellaneous Provisions
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and QGlide regarding the Services and supersede prior understandings.
If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
No waiver of any breach constitutes a waiver of subsequent breaches.
